The Gift of Life

Hello guys!!

Today, during Prof. David Albert Sir's class, he was teaching Ode to a Nightingale by John Keats. In the poem, there was a line: "I have been half in love with easeful Death." Sir then raised a question to the class: How can someone love death? What could be the reason for someone to love death? Can someone truly love death? Some students answered that a person might have lost hope, may not see any other option besides ending their life, or might believe that death would bring them more peace than the struggles they have endured.

Sir spoke about the importance of life. He mentioned that some people lose their lives because of one small mistake or because they don't share what they are going through. Many end their lives over small reasons or mistakes, believing that ending their life is the only solution and that they have no future.

Sir also said that he is not afraid of his future because the One who created him holds his future. That line really made me realize that we have nothing to worry about, when we trust God and rely on Him, He will never leave us. In the Bible, Matthew 6:26 says, "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?". The breath you just took is by God's Grace.

In today's class, I realized that we are blessed with whatever we have right now and that we should appreciate our life. Everyone in this world goes through something or the other. There is no one who is completely happy with their life. Even when we have everything, we still crave more, we still find faults in what we have, and we never feel like we have enough. But when we stop worrying for a moment and think about others' problems, we will definitely feel blessed for not going through what they are experiencing.
So, thank God for each and every second He has given us. Praise the Lord.

Philippians 4:6-7 :
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God"
