Judging Others, Ignoring Ourselves
I just don't understand why people fail to see their own mistakes but are quick to point out ours.
They don’t realize that our reactions are often a response to their actions.
They normalize certain behaviors, but when we do the same, they deny it and make it seem like we did something terrible.
Even when they recognize their own mistakes, they act as if they don’t matter. But if we make the same mistakes, they react as if we committed a crime.
I wish people had the patience to listen and reflect. I wish they would realize and understand.
In Matthew 7:3-5 —
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
