Retreat: Day-2

Hello guys!!

 

Day 2 of the retreat was amazing. Today, I have two takeaways from it

Leviticus 19:18 commands, "Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord".

We cannot truly love others as ourselves if we struggle with an inferiority complex. If we do not fully love and accept ourselves, how can we extend that same love to others?

Love your neighbor as God loves you.

John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life."

God gave His only Son to the world, knowing He would die for our sins. Jesus Christ lived a human life, fully aware that those closest to Him would betray Him and that He would be nailed to the cross. Yet, He still loved us and sacrificed Himself for our salvation. No one can love us more than God. And He calls us to love others as He has loved us. It is not we who live, but Christ who lives in us. We must decrease, and He must increase.

Another important message is this—we often ask God for a happy and peaceful life. But in doing so, we can be selfish. This world is not our home; heaven is our eternal home. Instead of seeking comfort, we should ask for a life of complete surrender to God and a deep love for Him, which will lead us to our eternal home. People say, 'Life is short, enjoy every moment.' But how about this—'Eternity is long, better prepare for it.' Following Christ comes with struggles, heartbreaks, sorrow, and insults. But in the end, the light will overcome the darkness

Matthew 5:12 says, "Rejoice and be glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you". 

Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Christ. Praise the Lord, Amen.
